In Canada it’s Thanksgiving weekend! We expect friends tomorrow (if electricity holds due to tropical storm) so I have flowers in a favourite vase. Hubby and I love Dunbar Falls, a mere 1/2 mile from our home on the river. The leaves were coming along just fine yesterday, as you can see♥️
It's been since July thay I last posted and I thank Peggy H. for reaching out and reminding me! Scotland was beyond fantastic and a huge personal reminder that I can be alone and strong. I credit Christ’s presence. My most precious day was a 25 mile lochs bike ride I peddled. Still processing it all.
Other experiences: my parents came for six days and the septic failed the last two, a bear joined me on a walk and then took off back into the woods, I attended a hook-in at an old train station, our son spent a long weekend here, and I put on 10 pounds since starting hormone replacement therapy (grrrrrr).
I continue to clean and document mats at Kings Landing but have cut back to every other week as gas prices are higher and we are now 45 minutes away and it’s voluntary.
I’ve been in a more reflective space; perhaps this is why I’d not posted. Besides aging parents and aunts and uncles, cancer seems to be touching too many in my sphere.
I’ll leave you with what I have been working on: the turkey will be a very primitive runner I am creating as I go. The cross stitch is a freebie by Lori at NotforgottenFarm.

Happy Columbus Day and hope you continue to have electricity for you and the guests.
Don't think I'd have enjoyed any part of a bear joining me on a walk.
I admire your design as you go and would love to be brave enough to do that. Hmmm, actually guess I did when designing the Ox Farm rug ~ even tho I preplanned the pattern I kept making changes so guess it was a sorta 'design as I went'. Can't wait to see more of that pattern as it develops. Welcome Home.
Good to hear from you, Kimm. I've thought of you but sadly failed to reach out. Happy to hear all is well.
A hook in is good for the soul. But a bear? No thank you.
Happy Thanksgiving. Hopefully you have electricity ;-)
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Kimm. It was good to see a post from you - you've been missed. Despite your posting absence, it seems you have packed a great deal into your days. I'd still be living in Scotland in my head. I am also sorry for all your losses and the illness that has touched those you know. It's been a rough year here as well. I just lost another aunt this week. That makes 2 aunts, 1 uncle, 1 cousin, 2 relatives by marriage, and my beloved mother and Snowdog in less than a year. Anyways...hope your celebrations go well - enjoy your time with family and friends. ~Robin~
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family and friends! Glad Scotland worked out for you. Not sure if I could have done it alone. Bear...eek. Love that turkey rug. Janice
Nice reading a post from you. I haven't posted for much longer than you and people have reached out to me too. I love faithful blogger friends.
You did pack a lot into the summer. Somehow I knew that you would do very well on your own, in Scotland. I hope that when you have time, you'll share some photos of your Vacation in Scotland.
In my youth, I encountered bears while walking on the road through a wooded area with two of my siblings but the bears crossed the road far ahead of us and we continued walking. Now in my old age, I would quickly turn back. lol...
Take care and happy Thanksgiving.
Hugs,
Julia
It is good to see you posting again. It sounds like you have have been busy and a bike ride on the loch sounds like fun. Your new projects are wonderful pieces.
Debbie
The power did not fail and our small gathering was a success! I was rather relieved to find the bear as reluctant as I to have company! Kimm
Robin you’ve had horrible losses. It’s hard to mourn individuals when they’re not spaced apart. Yes I feel connected to Scotland. They’ve got tough economic times though.
The Turkey is coming along quickly. If I’d known I’d do Scotland (partially) alone I would not have gone but I am so very glad it worked out this way! Kimm
Thank you Debbie! I’ve been too warm to hook but that’s not the case anymore. Ha! Kimm
