My parents, ages 79 and 80, drove up from Myrtle Beach area and here they are on our 8 mile bike along the St John river here in Fredericton NB.
They love our province. We had a too quick visit of 7 days. Mom suffers debilitating fear at times over covid— both spreading it or getting it. It’s a miracle she got here and a gift that she enjoyed it.
I’m so blessed to have flexible work, so we had most hours together.
The two small stones are all that is left of a hundred? or so who decided to establish Fredericton in mid 1700’s. Apparently most died of exposure. All they had were tents and make shift huts. The cold would have been brutal here. I find it troubling that the modern stone delineating this place is a mess. I’ve a keen interest in old graves, their art and the history they supply.
This church is in the country beside an apple orchard. Dad, ma and I picked a big bag. The resulting applesauce was amazing.
I put down my Hollow-ween rug to create a dog rug for my sister-in-law for Christmas. I didn’t have the proper rust colour for “Stella” so I married colours in the dye bath yesterday and it worked very well.
Stay tuned!

You are very fortunate to still have your parents and that photo of the two of them cycling in the leaves is priceless. I hope your mom stay Covid free.
The new design looks lovely. I like to design my own rugs too.
I know several people who are very interested in old cemeteries and old tombstones.
Enjoy the rest of this sunny afternoon.
Hugs,
Julia
How wonderful to have that time with your parents.
I use to be so afraid but i am much better now. But I still don't want it.

Kudos to your parents for being able to ride a bike and for that long. So glad you are able to spend timewith them. Will enjoy seeing how you hook up Stella. Janice
My mom made THE BEST homemade applesauce. I can't eat the store bought kind.
So nice you had a good visit with your mom and dad ;-)
That looks like a beautiful place to ride. Glad you got to spend time together, being with family is our most precious gift. I am a bit cautious myself, I only go near the kids, that I won't give up, but I like being outside and home during the week doing projects. That is going to be a wonderful rug for your sister, can't wait to see it finished.

Thanks Janice! Two years ago my mom ran her bike into dad and he had a break. Doctor told him no more biking. I think the photo says it all. 🤪
And applesauce is so easy to make too!! And if you overcook it you call it apple butter!
Thank you Debbie. I’ve already made progress but am using a number 8.
I don’t want it either Cathy. My booster is Friday and I’ll do the flu vax as well. Pretty soon I’ll be all chemicals.
Hi Julia, my parents are home safe. I know how to clean old tombstones but have yet to be asked. I guess the occupants are pretty uncommunicative!
I have yet to see a bad autumn here. Just when I think it has past us the leaves show brilliantly.
