Yes, I’m less irritable but not myself. Thanks for the encouragements.
At the advice of one of you I took an online zoom course with Deana of Ribbon Candy Rug Hooking: designing like Magdelena Briner Eby. The class was small and we interacted easily. Deana sent out lots of copyright free designs for us to experiment with. I love history so hearing Briner Eby’s story was a bonus. And there was a link to the recorded session for later. At $45 I don’t think you can beat it.
Our province is getting blasted with a foot and a half of snow so hubby and I are home today. I put together a cake for a party we’re attending Saturday. Made do without grocery trip, so I used an apple pie filling I’d made and frozen back in October. The result, a Bundt with a crumb topping, looks good.
I also worked a lot on the Woolen Memories pattern while watching Celebrating Appalachia on YouTube. (Tipper is amazing).

I absolutely love your rug and the colors are just perfect. How sweet to have incorporated Lucy's pawprint. I know how much you are missing your sweet furbaby. They give us unconditional love and take a huge piece of our heart when they leave us.
I still miss all my departed pets. Your hooked piece is looking great and as much as it would be nice to see how she covered the Magdalena tutorial I'm not willing to spend the money since I've hooked so many of Magdalena's rugs already. Bet you enjoyed the class and cannot wait to see your take on Magdalena in future posts.
Your rug is looking great and I like the idea of incorporating your beloved Lucy's paw print in it. Forever in your heart and in your rug. The choice of colors is perfect.
I stayed home also today and decided to bake a big batch of homemade bread. And the snow keeps falling.
Stay safe and well.
Hugs from afar, lol...

WOW just an amazing rug you are hooking. So love the colors and glad you mentioned what the paw was for as I did see it. Stay warm. Janice
Your rug is truly fantastic. You've really captured that antique charm beautifully. LOL about the Valentine display...that is pretty hilarious. Yikes on the snow. Usually it is me bemoaning the falling skies....so odd to have everyone else getting so much and us so little. (No, I am NOT complaining LOL). Stay safe and well ~Robin~
Wonderful rug and so special with the paw print. WE got the snow too. very heavy and wet.
glad you are feeling a bit better about things.
have a good week
Cathy
Thank you! Yes we miss our Lucy. Received her ashes last week…
I think about my dogs from childhood too— all very special and missed. Yes, you will see some Magdelena styled mats coming from this chick! I’m my “to do” list!
Mmmm, homemade bread!!! I watched cinnamon rolls being made on YouTube during the snow— close enough?! I love the molasses brown bread that’s so common here. Thank you for the rug comments Julia!
Sweet of you Janice. And I hope this finds your daughter doing well!
Thank you Robin! I do have some space on the walls for it but I’ve arrived at the point when I wonder if I really need another rug. Time to start giving away again? Last winter we did not get much snow so I should not complain.
The snow is wet and heavy here as well. Nova Scotia had over 12 hours of ice! We were blessed. May your week be good as well, Cathy.
Love your rug , the colors are so pretty and to have your pups paw print is such a sweet idea .
We got rain & more rain then ice ...would prefer snow ! The Valentines display is a riot !
Your rug is beautiful and love the prim shades. No snow here, freezing rain and sleet so everything is frozen.
Debbie
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. I love your rug!! I love the colors and how you did a hook along. How fun. Oh, gosh, I read your post below this one. I feel you and that was I think one of the hardest times of my life and those hot flashes are the worst. I am glad you have snow. I didn't think I would ever get cold again. I have loved doing Magdalena rugs. I think you captured her perfectly.
