Happy Anniversary To Me

♥️♥️♥️♥️

We’ve been married 32 years today! Where did the years go anyway? I was 19, he was 20 and we raised two awesome kids!

We’re going out for Indian food tonight with some friends who don’t know it’s a special day. I can’t remember the last time hubby and I ate at a restaurant together. We’re kind of easing out into the world again. This is my gift to Erik:

I should have taken a before picture! He goes into this cabinet each morning to fish around for container top and matching bottom to take to his lunch in. We keep a pretty clean home but toss things into cabinets; when this cabinet was opened, things feel out and he’d get all discombobulated. Let’s just say I recycled 9 tops whose bottoms have mysteriously disappeared. Crazy. Any bets on how long this will stay straight?

I finished my rug. Minus the binding but that’ll be done by Monday. I don’t let the binding wait.

Dark photo. The rug is subdued but not that dark.

And I finished a Dalmatian ornament.  A very late Christmas present for my friend Karen and her dog, Soprano.

Now I work on the new rug our group is hooking for a retreat house we go to. This rug will be raffled off.

I guess this just shows a portion of the geometric. It’s about 2x3 feet.
The nonprofit centre  is in dire straights from having lost so much money over the pandemic. Frankly it’s not looking good for them and that’s just plain terrible.

I walked a good bit today but wore my icers as it’s so slippery out. We hit 38F today and the snow is melting and refreezing at night.

Love how inviting these trails are!
Willie Nelson the dog was with me
but  wouldn’t stand still for a picture
as there were so many deer prints.
                              Happy Thursday

Congratulations on your 32nd Anniversary. This calls for a celebration. I hope the meal will be very enjoyable and congratulation on finishing your beautiful rug. You are disciplined in binding it right away.

You dalmatian Christmas ornament is amazing. You did a great job, it looks almost real. Is that a size two cut? I like your hit and miss rug and I'm sure the center will appreciate your generous contribution. It's always so nice seeing a picture of our bogger friends once in a while. I hope that you are enjoying this mild spell.

Take care, Hugs,
Julia

Happy anniversary. May you and hubby be blessed with many, many more.
Funny about the cupboard. It's amazing how quickly things can get messy once again...and what the heck happens to those bottoms???
Your rug is WONDERFUL! You must be one fast binder if you will get that done by Monday. If postage wasn't so expensive, I'd send you a couple to bind...lol!

Sad to hear about the nonprofit struggling. Looks like a very pretty walk.

Happy Anniversary to you both! So many non profit have lost money due to the pandemic. A wonderful thing to raffle off a rug! Janice

Happy Anniversary! I keep my cabinets somewhat organized, I like grabbing things and not spending time looking, lol.
The rug came out beautifully, I always like the darker shades in rugs. I have not been out much, too much ice for me and I can't afford any more falls. I am still looking for good rubber winter boots that have good bottoms.

I agree with what Lauren said about sending you my binding projects. Mine aren't done in a day or even two. Your rug looks great and you will enjoy it even more when it is bound.
Fantastic ornament you made for your friend and must have been tedious work since it looks so rea.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to you and Erik! I love your thoughtful gift to him. It probably will mean more than anything store bought (even if it might not last....eek, do I know THAT pattern!) I have no worries in that regard as my husband wouldn't go near a container cupboard....or really any cupboard for that matter. Your rug came out so beautifully! You really captured the wonderful feeling of an antique. And what an amazing gift for your friend. No worries it is "late"...the colors/shape (not to mention the subject) are perfect for Valentine's Day. It will be a forever/furever treasure for her I am sure. So glad to finally have a face to put to the name...and a pretty face it is indeed! We are in the midst of a fast and furious snow storm right now...but they say it is to warm to the 30's tonight and change to freezing rain. Great....just great. 🥺 ~Robin~

Thank you for the compliment! Yes I don’t mind the binding at all. I can kind of do that with one eye on All Creatures Great and Small!

I couldn’t get by here without good ice grips attached to my boots and bags of sand!

The Dalmatian is a six cut with some tinier hand cuts for the details. I was commissioned to do a cat for our lieutenant governor for Christmas and he turned out especially well. Kind of fun!

Thanks Saundra. If we lived close I’d bind yours for fun! The ornament was #6 with smaller hand cuts for the details.

Our beautiful snow has turned into pure ice on the streets and driveways. Just treacherous. Karen was pleased with her dog ornament ! Always nice when people appreciate something hand made. Erik was thrilled with the cupboard. He challenged me to keep it that way. As if!
