We’re rv’ing in Bird-in-Hand, Pa, which means we’re going to bug the poor Amish and Mennonites for the next couple of days. Just spent a couple nights near our home town with some friends. Their home is hugged by a bend of the Shenandoah River in Edinburg Va. Being a lover of history I always enjoying visiting their home.
Posted below are pics of their 1790s home. The original part is the brick to the left and they added a pricey addition a few years ago.
Enjoy the warmth of the week.....

What a beautiful home! Thanks for sharing.
A beautiful home! Janice
Oh....my!!!!! I would definitely be wearing out my welcome visiting those friends LOL! What a wonderful home....and some incredibly fascinating artifacts....all those arrowheads! Obviously your friends are some serious collectors. Enjoy your travels....although I know some aspects of it are bittersweet. ~Robin~
We’ve mainly had night rains, perfect for sleep and for day activities. Hope you do get warm!
I’d hate to have to take care of it all but it’s so awesome to visit and soak it in.
Thanks Robin. Yes their house has interesting things in every nook and cranny . And with two dogs and three cats it’s still very much lived in. A blessing to visit fam and hard to part, yes. Another lesson in precious, fleeting time.
Right up your alley too Janice!
That is a beautiful home and nice that you were able to stay there.
I look forward to hearing about your trip.
Debbie
Rain and humidity here at home (Lake Huron, Ontario) so I'm sure your weather is better. How did you get across the border!!! I'm envious of your trip, that area is my favorite place to visit.
Enjoy your trip and stay safe!
Thanks Debbie! We’re back in our rv now and winding our way back to Canada!
Hi Michelle. We have dual citizenship but I believe by July 21 it will be open to all travelling from Canada? Our hearts are torn between the Shenandoah Valley and New Brunswick Canada. Perhaps they can be both places...
