Hook-in Success!

April 6th hook-in at Taymouth community centre was a success! Meaning everyone asked about next year’s date!
Twenty attended on a day that held snowy wet weather. I’ll just post a flurry of pics of the day which was 2 hours of hooking, lasagna style lunch, and then one hour of sell and swap.
The last photo is G who had a beautiful braided rug from wool that didn’t work for hooked mats.

I enjoyed the show, thanks! I particularly liked the 7th rug down and wish I'd see it off the frame to see the entirety of those wonderful textures and design.

Alas, I don’t know what pattern it is either but her colours were incredible. She should be at a hook-in in May so I’ll follow up. A very good day indeed!

Ohhhh, I love that pumpkin rug! And the kaleidoscope one is cool too. The braided rug is gorgeous. What a creative use of otherwise unusable wool. But, heck... 2 hrs of hooking only? I'd hardly have gotten unloaded and set up in that time. LOL. But, for lasagna, yeah...I'd have soldiered it. ;-) ~Robin~

I love how you tied the cutlery with wide strips of wool....may have to steal that idea!!!

What wonderful rugs and lasagna sure sounded yummy! Glad it was such a success for there to be another one for next year. Janice

Though the whole day was four hours the hooking time went too fast. Typical hook-ins last around 5 hours but people start packing up at 4 1/2. Hard to gauge. The pumpkin rug is gorgeous!

Feel free to use the idea. I tried to use springy colours. I also made individual wooly name tags I’ll have to post.

Aren’t the rugs great? The creativity is contagious; that’s what I love most about hook-ins.
Thanks! Sheepunderfeet

I'm so glad that the hook-in was such a success, and I'm sorry I had to miss it but couldn't be in two places at the same time. I love that festive firework rug.
I hope to make it to the May hook-in. Hook-ins are always so much fun.
Hugs,
Julia

Yes, that fireworks one is Sheila Black’s. An excellent piece! It’s a tough time, isn’t it? I plan to make the Heritage hook-in too
