I’ve made some progress on my son’s rug over the last week.
I started to hook the border strip in a dark blue-gray but it was not working so I pulled it out.I’m afraid I’ll have to send this to Montreal as I don’t think we will be able to see each other in person for some time to come.
Making different soups lately in large batches. Eating some and freezing more. The hamburger veg was yummy as was the creamy squash. We love winter soups and stews.
Coping with news of cancer returned in a good friend. An eight inch tumour in a woman who weighs under 100 pounds is a grim thing. We had a meal with them last night and it was a sweet time. Despite the situation it is a wonder to see all the blessings God is working in that family!
This beautiful mess we call life is something isn’t it?
This afternoon we met some friends for some snowshoeing. The woods were something to behold.
That’s my hubby- married 31 years on Wednesday. We stopped for a short break of cocoa with creme de menthe. ‘Twas a workout for certain.
We last an area where they were giving horse drawn sleigh rides. An old friend of mine- who grew up with no car-fondly recalled riding in the “pung” to get places in rural New Brunswick. Imagine!
May you have a good week ahead!

Happy anniversary. May you be blessed with many, many more.
Prayers for your friend.
Always wanted to snowshoe but never have. Looks so much fun! Janice
Your rug is looking great! I really how you hooked the foliage. So very to hear the discouraging news for your friend. That is a large tumor for anyone of any size.... Cancer so stinks. I, too, love homemade soups. I could eat them every day I think.... Since my husband doesn't eat them (or anything homemade really), I have to make them and freeze some of it. I just finished up the last of the beef vegetable soup. I had wanted to make some chicken noodle this weekend, but didn't have the chicken....and the weather was not conducive to being out and about. Congratulations on the upcoming anniversary! ~Robin~
Thank you! And prayers are much appreciated
Snowshoeing can be a lot of work depending on the cover. Yesterday was perfect as it was slightly crunchy and we stayed on top. Easier than boots!
Doesn’t like homemade? Woah. That’s an expensive appetite! I want to get this rug done and gone. Ready for the next!
So sorry about the news of your friend. Snowshoeing looks great we have not gotten out yet on them. I also am a lover of soups and stews but unless it is beef stew husband could care less.
enjoy your week
Cathy
Sorry for your friend with cancer. Living with cancer is such a lonely journey even when one is surrounded with family and friends but at this time of Covis isolation, it would be even more difficult for her. Prayers for your friend.
My sister does a lot of snowshowing in winter but I have never tried it. It would be a good workout for sure.
Thanks Julia. The soldiers of old used to get through the back woods on snowshoes. But I find the snow has to be just so or you do sink quite a bit.
We have four people in our covid group (we are allowed to gather) and we have soup night every other week.
I love doing snowshoes, I did in Canada in the Lorentides if I remember. I went across a lake with them!
Sorry for your friend, time is hard sometimes.
Thank you for your visit . Take care. Catherine
