Monday through Thursday went by swiftly. The rug hooking retreat (15 of us)
was loads of fun.
And we got a lot done.
Here are some of the incredible mats…
The last 3 pieces are 6x6 mats by Caroline Simpson. She is a new and superb teacher.
I even managed a couple solitary walks by Renforth dock here in St. John, NB.
I didn’t see vehicles on the ice until we were set to leave. I realized the ice huts were much closer to the shore than in years past. It’s been a milder winter.
And thank goodness for the walks as the caterer was constantly feeding us delicious food: three meals plus two breaks of fresh baked yummies and raw veggies.
I’ll post photos of mine and my progress another time.

Those fun days always go by too quickly. The two cat faces are incredible and also love that floral/geometric 4th from the bottom.
Wonderful hooking projects ! Your teacher did beautiful work , the Cats face was amazing !!! Fun to be with other rug hookers !!!!
That would be my floral geometric thank you. More to come . One cat is by Marguerite the other by Carolyn. Both great rug hookers.
It was loads of fun and so much talent! No teacher, just hooking. Ms Simpson is a teacher but was at the retreat as a guest. She does gorgeous work
What talented folks! We have had a mild Winter too Only 2 days we had ce in the river Janice
Wow...that was a lot of talent packed in one place!! I absolutely am in awe of both of the cats...(but 6x6?? Seriously? What did she do - hook with dental floss??) My other favorite is the blue Santa.... Eeek! Glad you got away, had fun and, of course, were well-fed LOL. ~Robin~
Looks like a productive retreat for those who attended. Amazing pieces....
But can we just speak about that 6X6 cat!!! What!?!?
So incredible - the detail she managed to get into that little block.
Glad you enjoyed your time away.....
Do they have ice huts some winters there?
Caroline can hook with floss yes 👏. The blue Santa is the product of a course by Ruth Downing. And yes I’ve yet too get on the scales after that week!
Yes the cat was the favourite of all her little hookings. Just terrific. I would have like 3 more days but am grateful for the four too
Wow! I wish I was that patient. The projects are amazing!
