September Beauty

Many here say September is the best month in New Brunswick, Canada.  It sure is pretty great, though we’re not in the thick of Fall which is MY favourite time.

Another trip to Kings Landing as the harvest time is here.

And for whatever reason I’ve been into making chutney and canning it: blueberry, apple, and ground cherry.

Must be the Autumn nip in the air…

Yesterday a friend and I drove to the countryside to check out a yard sale and market. Coburns’ orchard had this spectacular old pumpkin truck. We got cider, fresh beef, eggs and canned beets— all paid on the honour system!

And our night time rug hooking group began! Whoo hoo! Can I say enough how awesome it is to be back?!  Stipulation was that all be double vaccinated as our average age is senior…I’m 51 and it is great to be considered the youngster.

I literally gasped when I saw that truck filled with all those glorious pumpkins!! What can I say...I come from a long line of pumpkin hoarders LOL. I've never had chutney believe it or not....It usually is a bit spicy, isn't it? ~Robin~

I think here in Central NH that September is just perfect! But the best is yet to come.
Love that truck. Lucky you getting back with your hooking group I wish I had one.

Sure is fun and it’s been such a long wait. But it makes us appreciate each other more doesn’t it?

Yes that truck was awesome! Chutneys have weird combinations that somehow work: like apples with onion and cumin and cinnamon and brown sugar. They are best served with cheeses or alongside meats. Super easy to make and great as gifts too.

Is it time to start a hooking group? I think there are hookers hiding out there near you.
And here I’d hazard a guess that our leaves will peak in 2 weeks
