Lady and Horse is done!
Finished Size 14.5x14”
Thank you Saundra Porter for the challenge; this block comes from the Reconciliation Quilt of 1867!
I’m not sure what I will hook next.
In my candle making world I’ve been looking for a smoke/campfire fragrance oil. I’d had some good stuff from Northwoods Distributing but they changed their formula. A bit of a gamble, but I ordered some from Canwax— paying more for the shipping than the product— but I am very pleased with the scent throw. Think hearth from a log cabin. Lovely!
Even with the pricier shipping I made 4 good candles to the single one I would have bought premade online. Candles are expensive!!
Saturday I had three friends over for brunch. One was turning 63 and one was mourning the return of a fast acting cancer. Five hours later we were done, having exhausted ourselves laughing and crying and eating.
Bittersweet….
Though we have a skiff of snow over ice I am donning my crampons over boots and going for a walk. Talking to God and immersing myself in creation is a great rejuvenator for me.

You've been a busy and creative lady. Mmmm, I can smell the scent from a log cabin smell in a snowy wooded setting. Your hooked lady on horseback turned out very well. Mine won't be finished but will post an update in an hour or so.
Your challenge woman on horseback rug turned out nicely and you finished it so fast.
I love candles and was lucky to win two large beeswax candles in two giveaways from my Zoom prayer group. I rarely win.
The light is soothing and I like a scent for atmosphere. Thanks Julia!
Thanks for stopping in! Still don’t know what will be next on the frame
Looking forward to seeing how your Lady on Horse is coming along. I’m not sure yet where I’ll put mine. Yes, the candle smells divine!
Wow you finished already! Looks good. I can smell your candles from here....glad you had fun with your friends. I have not seen mine in years. Janice
So very sorry for the return of the cancer but what a lovely way to spend the day with those you enjoy being with and great laughs and support.
I love your piece you were fast getting that done.
I burn candles most every evening to get the food smells out of the house. You are right good candles are expensive. I do purchase ones made in the USA at Marshalls if they have them.

Your lady turned out lovely....you're quite the quick hooker. It seems like forever since I've accomplished anything. Sorry to hear of the return of your friend's cancer. I just got similar news from my sil. But I am glad that you got to spend some time together - friendship is an incredible tonic. Your candles look and sound enticing. I used to burn a ton of candles and still do on occasion but prefer the wax melts for electric tart warmers..and I have that going everyday. Hope you have a good new week ahead. Bitterly cold here. ~Robin~
You haven’t seen your friends or your candles?! I hope it’s the candles.
We did have a super catch up, even with the heartaches. The shipping weight of candle orders does not help. We have Marshall’s in town now but they don’t have a huge selection. Thank you for the visit
Robin, I use a tea candle powered warmer sometimes too. Scent is hugely soothing to me. I’m not so much a fast hooker as I am a hooker with extra time lately. I’m sad to hear about your in law too. She’ll be blessed to have your encouragement.
